Blending Configuration
Why Blending Matters? Without blending, terrain textures have hard edges between classifications. Blending creates smooth, natural transitions.
RDST Layer Data Inspector with Blending Config section expanded
1. Select RDST Layer Data asset
2. Check 'Blending Config' section
Blending Modes
Edge-Preserving Smooth (Recommended)
Best for most use cases. Maintains sharp boundaries where needed (like water edges) while smoothing elsewhere.
When to use:
- General purpose terrain
- Mixed land cover types
- When you want natural transitions but clear water boundaries
Edge Threshold
Sensitivity for detecting edges to preserve.
0.0 = Preserve all edges (minimal blending)
0.5 = Balance edge preservation and blending
1.0 = Blend everything (ignore edges)
Recommended: 0.1 - 0.3
Custom blending settings
Each raster mask can have custom blending settings.
1. Expand a Raster Mask
2. Expand 'Classification Blending' section
3. Enable 'Enable Custom Blending''
4. Configure parameters:
- 'Blend Strength' : Override global strength
- 'Custom Blur Radius' : Override global blur
- 'Feather Distance' : Transition zone width
